Bis is used in France and Italy instead of encore.
Based on other Paluzie sheets using "bis" next to the number it seems to indicate "this is in addition to" the original # produced... It could be that the "bis" sheet is in addition to, an updated version, an altered version or possibly in the case of Teatro Moderno 1090 a replacement version. "Bis" signifies an encore but not to be confused with another by the same number.)

I personally think they may have had numbering issues with there printings there are sheets and keeping track of what was what. The Theater Espanol marked 1060 when it was first printed in the Victorian and continued to be printed into the Edwardian then in the 1920's got revamped into a smaller inclusive sheet with Theater and curtain on the same sheet; but the changed the number to 1090. Then in the 1920s they create the Modern Theater and number it 1090 bis. I do not have the definitive answers to there thoughts or numbering system. Seems like a new design should have a new model number; but what they did... is what they did, and it's a quirk that needs to be considered if you are interested in collecting or looking at Paluzie paper theater sheets. It's not a lot but I hope that helps a bit.
Cheers, Evelyn aka EKDuncanEKDuncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02362063209809089591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5007019440540153.post-84851711054212330802023-05-21T12:56:49.094-04:002023-05-21T12:56:49.094-04:00Hello, Evelyn! I've been reading through your posts, and wanted to ask you if you could finally find out why that one has a "bis" after the number. You can even buy kits on line to help you get started.

There are lots of videos and tutorials on the web.
I've listed a few links below to help get you started
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPkHD7OkEWk

http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/m/make-your-own-toy-theatre/

http://www.victoriana.com/crafts/toytheater.htm

http://www.kannikskorner.com/toytheater/theater.htm

Hope you enjoy the links and best wishes,
Evelyn

EKDuncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02362063209809089591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5007019440540153.post-74279611677429707632017-11-14T08:30:07.961-05:002017-11-14T08:30:07.961-05:00Hello Evelyn,

Yes, I know it has been a very long time since I've posted. I was taking care of my Mom who had terminal cancer and my muse has been sad and just not up to being creative during that time or since her passing. Not sure when I'll be ready to make new posts. I'm still here, just not "actively" posting at the moment.

Best Wishes,
EvelynEKDuncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02362063209809089591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5007019440540153.post-38504988103456893082016-02-11T15:47:56.431-05:002016-02-11T15:47:56.431-05:00No posts since 2013?!
